A map of the countries and number of players represented at the 2024 PDGA Pro World Championships

29 European pro disc golfers will be representing 7 different countries at the 2024 PDGA Pro World Championships: 3 Norwegians, 3 Swedes, 13 Finns, 6 Estonians, 1 German (Simon Lizotte), 2 Czechs and 1 Slovak.

In addition to the 29 Europeans from 7 different countries, the 2024 PDGA Pro Worlds will host players from Canada (6), Mexico (1) and Japan (5), totalling 41 foreign players. That’s a “whopping” 14% of the field, USA players accounting for the rest, 86%, 256 out of 297.

World Champions of what?! The United States? Lyles

But keep in mind, the vast majority of the world’s best disc golfers are from the USA. In addition, most of the Disc Golf Pro Tour (biggest pro tour in the world) stops are also held mostly in the USA, which has the biggest player base. So, cut them some slack.

Here are the Official Disc Golf World Rankings by PDGA (as of 7th august 2024), as you can see 8 players out of 10 in the world are from the USA.

NB! Ohn Scoggins is technically from Laos, but she has listed USA as her location.

P.S! I think it’s pretty safe to say that next year’s PDGA Pro World Championships in Finland will host at least twice as many Europeans & countries in total, and we’ll finally have a proper ‘World Championships’!

Here’s a map of the countries & number of players represented at the 2024 PDGA Pro World Championships. Featuring a total of 297 players — 208 in MPO and 89 in FPO — from 11 different countries across 3 continents.
