USA disc golf scene > Europe + rest of the World disc golf scene… For now.
The vast majority of the world’s best disc golfers are from the USA. In addition, most of the Disc Golf Pro Tour (biggest pro tour in the world) stops are also held mostly in the USA, thanks to the country’s large player and fan base… for now.
Although the U.S. is the birthplace of disc golf and remains the dominant market, the sport has been experiencing significant growth internationally.
Here are the Official Disc Golf World Rankings by PDGA (as of July 2025), 7 players out of 10 in the world are from the USA.

Last year’s remarks
Last year I published an article about a similar topic. The 2024 PDGA Pro Worlds were held in the USA and for comparison, in 2024, a “whopping” 14% of the field were non-USA pro disc golfers, USA players accounting for the rest, 86%, 256 out of 297.
In the article I also mentioned: “I think it’s pretty safe to say that next year’s PDGA Pro World Championships in Finland will host at least twice as many Europeans & countries in total, and we’ll finally have a proper ‘World Championships’!”
And here we are, 2025 PDGA Pro World Championships are being held in Finland with competitors representing more than 45 countries, the most in PDGA Pro Worlds history! A true Disc Golf World Championships!
