In this article, we take a quick look at the most viewed DGPT events in the 2025 season on the DGN platform. In addition, I did some digging on the Disc Golf Pro Tour (DGPT) YouTube channel and compiled a list with the actual viewership numbers for the free YouTube live first round coverage.
A couple of months ago, I wondered which events were the most viewed on the Disc Golf Network platform in 2025. I decided to take action and asked the Disc Golf Pro Tour (DGPT) directly for a simple list of the top 15 most viewed events on their DGN platform. And they ANSWERED!
But my timing was not the best, as the DGPT was just wrapping up its 2025 season. It took them some time to come up with a list, but I finally got the answer I was looking for!
Top 15 Most Watched DGPT Tournaments of 2025 on the DGN Platform
This list is based only on Disc Golf Network viewership numbers provided directly by the Disc Golf Pro Tour, owners of the Disc Golf Network platform (although exact figures were not given), excluding other media distribution.
Furthermore, it’s safe to say that the 2025 PDGA Pro Worlds, which was also broadcast on Finland’s YLE national TV, reached the largest audience of any disc golf event EVER!
The 2025 season featured a total of 25 events, including four Majors for both MPO and FPO divisions.

The 2025 Worlds in Finland broke all the viewing numbers!
An average of 301,000 people watched the 2025 PDGA Pro Worlds on Finland’s YLE National TV during Sunday’s rounds, with viewership peaking at nearly 600,000!!!
Note: This figure does not include viewers from the YLE Areena channel, which also broadcasted the event and drew tens of thousands more.
Keep in mind that Finland has a population of 5.64 million people, meaning more than 10% of Finland’s total population was watching the 2025 PDGA Pro Worlds! In fact, some Finnish disc golf fans have stated that these numbers would’ve been higher if there hadn’t been other big events at the same time, such as the Finnish rally, the Finnish national track and field championships and the Formula 1 Grand Prix.
All-in-all, disc golf is insanely popular in Finland, around 20% or one in five of the Finnish adult population has played disc golf. Among 15-24-year-olds, the proportion is much higher, as much as 42%.

Most Viewed Free YouTube Live Round 1 Broadcasts on the DGPT Channel:
In case you did not know, most of the Disc Golf Pro Tour’s first round live coverage is free to watch on their YouTube channel. Luckily for us, this also means we can see how many total viewers have watched the live broadcast.
Here is all the data I was able to gather from the DGPT YouTube channel. Note: These numbers are subject to change in the future as the videos accumulate more views. This list was compiled on December 9, 2025.

Note 1: USWDGC (FPO Major) had 55,000 views, while TPWDGC (XA-tier), highly regarded as the fifth Major in the FPO division, had 42,000 views.
Note 2: FPO Pro Worlds and USWDGC had the same amount of views, both at 55,000.
Conclusion:
As I stated earlier in the article, it’s safe to say that the 2025 PDGA Pro Worlds in Finland was the single biggest and most-viewed disc golf event ever held in the sport’s history!
It was the number one most watched event on the DGN platform, the number one most watched event on the DGPT YouTube channel, hosted well over 10,000 on-site fans and reached a mind-blowing audience of 600,000 through the Finnish national YLE TV broadcast.

The 2026 season will feature a total of 23 events, including four Majors for both MPO and FPO divisions. Four DGPT events will be held in Europe, including ONE Major in Estonia, the European Disc Golf Festival. The European swing will feature the best disc golf courses in the World, such as highly praised Ale Disc Golf Center in Sweden and Kippasuo DiscGolfPark in Finland! Ranked #2 and #3 accordingly.
