In the beginning of the 2022 season we published an article on the topic of “TOP 12 Youngsters Ready to Dominate Disc Golf“. Now that the season has come to an end, let’s take a quick recap.
Here’s how the 6 FPO youngsters performed in the 2022 season (as of 9th November 2022):
Hailey King
2022 United States Women’s Disc Golf Champion, multiple TOP 10 finishes at the DGPT events, 9th at Pro Worlds & 11th at Champions Cup. 21st in the 2022 DGPT points standings – DGPT Championship “Qualified for Play-In”. Two 1000+ rated rounds during the season & earnings so far – $20,378.
Valerie Mandujano
2022 DGPT Portland Open, Waco Open and Beaver State Fling Champion. In addition, 2nd place at the USWDGC, 6th at Champions Cup, multiple TOP 5 finishes at DGPT events and 9th at Pro Worlds. 5th in the DGPT points standings – DGPT Championship “Qualified” & finished 4th at the DGPT Championship. In adddition, a total of 6 1000+ rated rounds during the 2022 season and total earnings so far – $42,342.
Alexis Mandujano
Multiple TOP 10 finishes at the DGPT Elite Series Events, 7th at Champions Cup and 14th at USWDGC. 16th in the DGPT points standings – DGPT Championship “Qualified for Play-In”. A total of two 1000+ rated rounds and 2022 earnings so far – $12,978.
Kat Mertsch
Two podium finishes at the 2022 DGPT Silver Series events, multiple TOP 5 finishes at DGPT Elite Series events. 5th at European Open and 8th in Pro Worlds, in addition 14th at both Champions Cup and USWDGC. 8th in the DGPT points standings – DGPT Championship “Qualified”. A total of two 1000+ rated rounds during the season and earnings so far – $26,257.
Emily Beach
2022 DGPT FPO Rookie of the Year! 2nd at Great Lakes Open and 3rd at Dynamic Discs Open (DGPT Elite Series events). Multiple TOP20 finishes at Major events. 14th in the DGPT points standings – DGPT Championship “Qualified”. A total of two 1000+ rated rounds during the 2022 season and earnings so far – $18,977.
Heather Young
In the beginning of the 2022 season Heather Young announced that she will be taking several months off from the disc golf tour. But she did compete in three Elite Series, 1 Silver Series and Tennessee State Championships. She finished 7th at the Belton Open (Silver Series) and inside TOP25 at all of the DGPT Elite Series events and 2nd at the Tennessee State Championships. During the 2022 season so far she has won a total of $1,843.
Hopefully she we will be seeing more of her in the 2023 season, she has amazing potential.
