At the end of 2022, Estonia had a total of 2568 PDGA members of which 1445 were active PDGA members. For example, in 2020, Estonia had 1018 active PDGA members.
Before diving into Estonia’s numbers, let’s take a look how’s disc golf doing in Europe.

At the end of 2022, Europe had 20 120 active PDGA members, with a growth rate of 21.3% compared to 2021.

Estonia’s Disc Golf in Numbers (2022)
Statistics by Disc Golf Metrix and PDGA.
According to Disc Golf Metrix, Estonia’s registered users player base grew 12.6% in 2022, from 23 309 to 26 238!
But the most important part is that the active player base grew only by 1.4%, from 12 066 to 12 235, hinting that the rapid growth from the pandemic years have come to an end!
In spite of that, we can say that Estonia’s disc golf continued to grow in 2022!
Here’s a chart where the black line represents the total number of Estonians registered at DiscGolfMetrix.com, blue line represents players who have played at least once a year. NB! Stats from December 14th 2022.
Same statistics about Estonia’s female disc golf players, there were a total of 5115 registered users and 1828 of them played at least once a year.

As Disc Golf Metrix has it’s own rating system, quite similar to PDGA rating points, there were a total of 545 different players who managed to play a round of disc golf, which was rated 1000 or higher.
2022 highest Metrix rated round was recorded by Mauri Villmann on 15th July 2022, he scored an amazing 1152 rating points for a round of disc golf, which is one of the highest rated rounds ever recorded in Disc Golf Metrix history. Check out his round here.
Disc Golf Seasonality in Estonia
Even though Estonia has four beautiful seasons the vast majority of disc golf rounds are being played during summertime. The 2022 season peaked at June 6th to 12th (one week), when players recorded a total of 15 499 rounds in a single week!
Estonia’s disc golf clearly has an off-season somewhere around November to March, which depends when the snow comes down.
The main season usually starts around April and lasts til the end of September.

As one-third of the total population lives in Tallinn, capital of Estonia, disc golf around the capital is extremely popular. From personal experience, I can state that there are clearly too few courses near the capital, especially courses which are more suited for advanced and professional players.
During summertime the courses near Tallinn are packed with disc golfers as displayed in the image down below. Orange areas represent very popular courses.

After a spectacular & record-breaking season FPO player Kristin Tattar had in 2022, there’s no doubt who had the best season & who earned the most prize money in 2022 from Estonia.
Kristin Tattar is the first Estonian EVER to become a Disc Golf World Champion! She earned a total of $103,141 in a single season! In addition, she was the first disc golf player EVER to earn over $100,000 in a single season.
